PHOTOGRAPHY INSTRUCTOR
Parish Episcopal School

2015 – Present

Dallas, TX

  • Redesigned curriculum - traditional and digital - for the Upper School students. Implemented new courses, both during the year and virtual options for summer courses.

  • AP scores of 3-5 in last four years; exceed student enrollment numbers each year.

  • Curate 4-5 gallery shows per year; enter 2-3 outside competitions each year.

  • Collaborate on media presentation for program covers – Rosette Drill Team, Choir and Theatre Productions – and Art Dept Posters as needed.

  • Installed two major art installations within the school in the last 3 years. One was removed to install the 2nd. Collaborated with Head of school, building/grounds department, and STEM personnel to implement the needed resources. Project displayed is a revolving exhibit with images of student work etched onto plexiglass, hanging in the main hall of the school.

YEARBOOK ADVISOR

  • Improved the quality of the yearbook publication and expectations of the students. Produce 320-page publication with rotating group of students.

  • Hold national first place yearbook ranking for 4 years (ASPA); win multiple other awards throughout the year.

  • Implemented leadership program for editorial staff and encourage student advocacy and peer mentorship.

ACADEMIC ADVISOR

  • (2019-20) Mentored new employee in department.

  • Designed program for incoming faculty with the help of our Assistant Head of School as a mentor program – proposed but denied due to Covid-19 restrictions.

  • Facilitate academic coursework and registration; serve as liaison for select group of students leading them from entrance into the Upper School through graduation

  • Direct the Senior class and smaller subsection of committee members in their management of a school-wide event from the beginning of the planning stages through completion. Planning through culmination of event over a three-week period – event is held beginning of October.

  • iMpact committee – designs practices for habits of work for students to use and apply throughout their methodologies. To be engaged while completing schoolwork and influence their development of self for the workforce after graduation. Committee includes members from all divisions and sectors of the school. – had to apply and was granted ‘admission’ to serve.

 

HART GRADUATE LEADERSHIP COACH
SMU Hart Center for Lyle School of Engineering

Jan. 2020 – Present

Remote

  • Collaborate with SMU-certified coaches dedicated to servicing students enrolled in the Lyle School of Engineering; designed to assess current leadership capabilities via the Hart Leadership Assessment and via individual coaching sessions.

  • Participate in Personal Leadership and Relational Leadership workshops to develop student learning techniques and self-awareness.

  • Guide students through one-on-one weekly coaching sessions for 10 weeks to become and develop a more well-rounded leader and understanding of self-development.

  • Re-designed and incorporated a curriculum and pacing guide, along with a lesson plan template for levels of Art 1, Art 3, and Art Honors levels as needed.

    • Considerations include the national standards, time restraints, and art supply limitations with limited budget.

    • Compensated for a variety of ability levels; implement the VA state Standards of Learning; assigned rubrics for each lesson for adequate evaluation of skills and knowledge; created adequate accommodations for students with IEP and 504 requirements.

  • Sponsored the NAEA National Art Honor Society for high school students – implementing community service and volunteer hours, raising money with the annual Student Artwork Silent Auction.

  • Collaborated with theatre colleagues to produce set design and props as needed for each show.
